Baltimore is Nice

A few weeks ago, John and I were headed out towards Ikea to check out the As-Is section (because let's be honest, who really wants to put that stuff together if you don't have to). We pulled into the parking lot with the anticipation of unearthing our pot of gold inside the Big Blue Box. As we approached the sliding glass doors, we suddenly began to take notice of our surroundings and the swaths of people entering and exiting just as giddy as ourselves...there were SO many people in that Big Blue Box. Without saying a word, John took my hand, turned us around, and we hustled like Olympic speed walkers back to the 4Runner. As I was composing myself, John said, "Hey, let's go to Baltimore. Let's just keep driving." Well, ya know, I think he's brilliant.

{Side note: Listen. Don't settle for a turd, ever. I promise it's worth the occasional devastating heartache AND the gritty personal work necessary to be the best version of yourself everyday. Set your standards high and speak nicely to yourself every once in awhile. There are good people in this world.}

Baltimore is nice and weird and we like it a lot. The lobster is good everywhere, the ducks are curious and the paddle boats are crazy animated. If you're a fan of open spaces, genuinely nice people and more than enough elbow room, Baltimore is for you. We will never visit Ikea on the weekend again in this lifetime, but we'll happily wave to the As-Is section on the road to Baltimore for another round.

It seems as though we never leave the house without a film camera and it's the greatest habit we've developed. The images below are a mix of Kodak's Ektar 100 & Gold 400 professional and consumer films, respectively. Documenting memories of your own never gets old.
